Birthplace: Believed to be St Mary although he grew up in August Town
On March 18th it was reported that "at least 33 persons, including popular dancehall artiste, Miguel Collins, alias 'Sizzla', were detained for questioning in relation to the gun find and the spate of unrest being experienced in sections of the community. This is the second major gun find in the August Town community in less than a month. About two weeks ago the police found three handguns there but nobody was arrested."
On Monday March 21st, "Sizzla was...released from police custody after being questioned by investigators from Operation Kingfish in connection with the discovery of 13 illegal high-powered weapons, a quantity of ammunition and other items at Judgment Yard in August Town, Kingston, last Thursday."

Sizzla started out as a musical apprentice with the Caveman Hi-Fi sound system. After stating his recording career with a release through the Zagalou label, he then teamed up with Bobby 'Digital' Dixon for a series of singles.
